Filming day 3 results!

On day three we went to Townely. The majority of our footage was filmed here. To begin with, we tried to re-make the shots we did with Kerrie at the entrance to the woods around the hall, but people kept walking along through the shots on that particular path. So we moved to the adjasent path which seemed to be less busy. The weather was very similar to the days we hd previously shot on, which was very lucky for us, but unfortunately it was raining quite heavily the whole time we were filming, but it didn't really show up on camera. However, it all adds to the effect. We had the same difficulty on this day as we had perviously; chloe didn't know the lyrics, so we had to improvise and just film what she could remember.

Here she is on the adjacent path to where we filmed with Kerrie. I think the shot looks quite good with all the different coloured trees and bushes in the background. We can also see the emotion on her face without it being too close, so we can see the surroundings too.
In this shot, we had Chloe sit on one of the benches around the hall and look miserable. She isn't singing in this shot because if she was we feel it would take something away from the feel of the shot.
We did this filming around the 11th November - Rememberance day - and as we went past the big memorial statue we noticed that there were several poppy reiths and little wooden crosses that peopel had placed there in memory of peopel that died in the War, or for people who are either still fighting in Afghanistan or peopel who have saldy died. While we were filming I thought it would be quite a nice tribute to suggest that Chloe's boyfriend had been a soldier, killed in action rather than to him to have just left her. So we got some shots of the reiths and of Chloe stood at them. Then we thought it might look  good if we have her sort of break down in tears and fall to her knees. It did seem very dramatic, but it made it clear that she had lost him and she was grieving. This is a situation that many people would would be able to relate to in the world at the moment, so if it were to be an official music video, then it would be quite centimental to many people. Through out the video, if we hadn't had something this obvious then it would have been very difficult as a viewer to work out the narrative as there isn't a clear story in the lyrics - you just assume that the two have broken up but we put a dramatic twist on it. In this particular location we managed to get lots of different shots and angles. From close up shots of her feet in the puddles, to long shots of Chloe through the stone reith being held by one of the statues.

When we finished filming on Townely, we thought of lots of other locations that we could use. My mum kindly gave us all lifts and waited in the car as we shot them. We sometimes found locations as we passed them and decided they'd be great. Gaynor also improvised in the back of the car and just filmed Chloe looking out of the window - which actually has come in quite useful and we are thinking of using it in our final cut.
