Inspirational music videos!

There are a selection of artists releasing videos and songs similar to the tone of ours at the moments, because of the season. As it gets into autumn and winter slower, more emotional songs are getting released. Including;


One Direction - 'It's gotta be you'
The video includes numerous shots of the boys just standing looking into the camera or off into the distance. The biggest difference between our plan and One Direction's video is that they are a group. There's five of them and only one person in our video. So where as they've spread their time equally between all the boys. We will have to try and make our video more interesting with it only being a single person. In this video the boys are in quite autumn colours, lots of brown, beige etc. I think that's done very well because the song is one of thier less upbeat one so they have a video to match. Quite slow cutting shots and they last relatively longer than they ususally do in One Direction videos. Also they don't do as much jumping around and having fun being natural in this video. Unlike in others this is quite choreographed.

Adele - 'Someone like you'
In Adele's recent video there are quite a lot of close ups on her face looking very melancholy. This video was quite a big inflence because the track we have chosen is a less well known song by Adele. So we wanted to see how she does her videos so that we could get some idea for how we could re-create certain aspects. Another feature I liked is how it is all in black and white. I think it's quite effective and reflects the somber mood of the song.

Christina Perri - Thousand years
This video had less of an influence than the other two because it is much more extravagant. This Christin Perri song is for the new Twilight: Breaking Dawn film. So during the videos there are some shots from the movie - another thing we are unable to do. But there are some good shots that I think are effective, such as her looking into the wind, away from the camera. I feel we could re-create them but in our own way. Again thiws video has a certain colour to it. It appears to have a slight blue filter at times. It also has some quite dark moments where the only light is from the candles.
