I asked girl I know who is a singer and does some acting too if she would like to be in our video, and luckily she did. We did have a little trouble to start trying to find when we are all free to film at the same time as Kerrie. But we suddenly decided to do it one afternoon when we were all free for a couple of hours. It went really well. We asked Kerrie to wear clothes in quite neutral colours, nothing too bright. So she did, which went great with the colours of Townley. It was a relatively grey day so this helped a great deal with is setting the scene.
When we were filming we went into the woods where there is a small pond with some benches by it. Somewhere Kerrie's character and her boyfriend would have gone quite often previously. The setting we chose is great for showing how alone she is. Strolling around the woods alone, sort of unsure what to do with herself.
We began editing some of the footage that we filmed in the first day, to see how it looked on the timeline and to see if it went with the music. At this point we don't have our own version of the song, we are waiting for Kerrie's version. So untill then we are going to use the original to give us an idea of where everything fits and what looks good with the song. We will be able to move the clips to match her movement and to sync it better to Kerrie's version later.

This is when we were editing one of the emotional close ups of the video. It all goes really well and matches the song too. The only problem was that Kerrie didn't know the song. So she had to learn it bit by bit and we would just film the small parts she did know. Which is why in this picture you can see she had an earphone in. Although it's not ideal we thought we might be able to keep it in and just have it that she's walking along with her ipod on.

In this image is a shot we did, it was a little experimental. Chloe had told us about a similar shot in an Evanescence video, of a close up showing her feet walking by a pond. We were already wanting to use the pond for our video so it made sense to give it a go. It actually worked out really well, I did have a slight concern it wouldn't look right just zooming right into her feet and didn't see the relevance. But it was alright.

Here is another shot we tried, again by the little pond. With this section we were sort of improvising. The reflection of Kerrie in the pond has a nice effect. We thought that it would create a good oportunity for us to use the boy - her ex - stood, the two looking lovingly at each other but when the camera pans down onto the reflection, there is only Kerrie there. This would act as either a memory or a wish that he was still there with her. I like this whole idea- I think it works really well and can get the message across without spelling it out.

In this image, we are starting to build up the times line with different clips from Townely. This shot pans down Kerrie, onto her reflection in the pond. This was the first experiment to see how it looked. We were planning to go again another day to film with a boy there - and possibly fade him into the previous shot. We would also reshoot it, just so that we have a little variation and we could try both kinds to see which one looks betteer.
